You may email the file along with the documentation or source code and a full description of what the component does to support@enterhost.com. If the component is approved, we will grant execute access to the file. There is a $25 service fee per DLL, which covers the review and installation process.

Do you have Crystal Decisions .NET available on the servers?
To enable the ability of Crystal Decisions .NET, you have to license and install Visual Studio .NET on the server.

There is one main reason why we are not able to offer this service and that is cost. For a server connected to the Internet, the Crystal Reports per processor license is $25,000. All of our servers have dual processors. In order to legally offer this service, it would cost us over $50,000 per server. Until these licensing arrangements change we will not be able to offer this service.

Do you offer a money-back guarantee?

Yes, we offer a 30 day money back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with our services, you may send us an email at cancel@enterhost.com and request to have your account closed and your money refunded. This option is only available within the first 30 days of establishing your account.

What is a CGI Script?
CGI, or Common Gateway Interface, is a specification which allows World Wide Web users to run programs on a web server. CGI isn't a programming language in itself; rather, it is a gateway which allows programs or scripts written in other languages to be run over the Internet.

CGI programs usually take input passed to it from a form on a web page, process the information somehow, and then format the results in HTML. The result is a web page that is generated on-the-fly.

The language of choice for CGI processing is Perl, or Practical Extraction and Reporting Language. Perl is used often because it is specifically designed to butcher multiple text files and format them nicely, making it exceptional for writing HTML.

Can I transfer my website to the new environment?

Yes, we can move you to the new environment for no charge. When the transfer is made, your website, Mail, and Statistics will instantly be live on the new server. To make the transfer, you can contact our support department to coordinate a time to make the transfer.

To ease the transition process, you will need to coordinate a time with us to make the transfer so you can be ready to upload your website and setup mail accounts. If your site uses an SQL database, you will also need to transfer the database to the new server and update your code to reflect the new DSN connection string. You can coordinate a window anytime during our normal support hours. The typical setup time is 15-20 minutes. You can work out any additional details with our support department prior to the transfer.

There will be a few minor changes with the new environment listed below you will want to note prior to the transfer.

  • Your new webfolder is wwwroot/ instead of web/, so the full path will change to E:\Inetpub\domain.com\wwwroot
  • Your SQL server will change as well as the DSN. Your new DSN will replace the '.'s with a '-'. Ex, daisysflowershop-sql-00000
  • If you manage your own DNS, you will need to update the DNS information as soon as possible to avoid any interruption in service. Your old account will be remove shortly after the site is setup in the new environment.

How to verify DNS and client settings for the new SmarterMail environment

Verify and update your MX (mail) records:

Perform a lookup with InterNIC to verify that the name severs are pointed to our DNS servers. Browse to this address, type in your domain name and click Submit.
http://www.internic.net/whois.html

If the results show our name servers then we will update these records for you. In this case please skip down to the next heading.

Name Server: DNS1.ENTERHOST.COM
Name Server: DNS2.ENTERHOST.COM
Name Server: DNS3.ENTERHOST.COM
Name Server: DNS4.ENTERHOST.COM

If these are not pointing at our name servers, then please check your MX record by following these steps.

  1. Browse to this website, type in your domain name once more and click MX Lookup.
    http://www.mxtoolbox.com/

  2. If the MX record shows as one of the following below, then the record will need to be updated.

    mail01.enterhost.com
    mail02.enterhost.com
    mail03.enterhost.com
    mail04.enterhost.com

To update the record, please log in to your domain's registrar and update these records as follows:

    MX, Priority 10, mail07.enterhost.com.
    CNAME, mail, mail07.enterhost.com.

  3. If the MX record shows to be mailfilter.enterhost.com, then you do not have to modify it.

  4. If the MX record shows to be something other than any of these above, your email is being hosted with a third party and you do not have to modify it.

Verify your e-mail clients are pointed to the correct mail server:

You will also need to verify that your e-mail client (Outlook) is pointed to the correct mail server. If you are not receiving mail, then it's likely that this needs to be updated.

Browse to our tutorial video website and scroll down to the heading titled 'Email - How to Create Accounts in POP3 Clients.' Click on the link that corresponds with the version of Outlook you are running.
http://www.enterhost.com/support/shared/demos/index.cfm

A video will launch which guides you through the configuration of your e-mail client. Once you've reached the point that lists the incoming/outgoing mail server, verify that these are set to mail.yourdomain.com.

If this is set to one of the older mail servers (mail01.enterhost.com -mail04.enterhost.com) then you will need to update it to reflect mail.yourdomain.com. If the outgoing mail server is provided by your ISP, like mail.bellsouth.net, then leave this setting as it is. This is required by your ISP for delivery.

A database prefix is commonly used to differentiate between scripts using a single database. For example, tables for WordPress may begin with wp_tablename and vBulletin vb_tablename. This allows for a clean distinction between the two when administering the database.

Why am I having trouble with this web based installer?

Occasionally developers will offer a smaller, 'web' installer as well as a larger, 'full' installer. We recommend downloading the full installer when given the choice. The web based installers will often require security permissions that are not granted in our shared environment.
